School Bond Elections

C P Appraisers has conducted services for municipalities. One such study was for the Orange Unified School District where we were hired to determine if there was a correlation between home values and successful school bond elections. Temporary property taxes raised funds to improve school facilities. This included repairs and/or additions to classrooms, laboratories, and athletic facilities. They did not include increases in administrative salaries. 

In summary, the study indicated that there was a correlation between property values and the Acedemic Performance Index (API) scores. School districts that were successful in passing school bond elections had notable increases in API scores. The study analyzed school districts that were similar in location and demographics and that were successful or unsuccessful in passing school bond elections. The primary focus was upon Orange Unified School District and Tustin Unified School District. A copy could be provided in a pdf format by calling or emailing us for more information.
